Hey there, ready for our big spring update ? We sure as hell are, so here goes! A lot has been going on last month, and we want to share it all with you!

After we announced signing KINGDOM to our label last month, we are very pleased we can announce yet another addition to our roster. Belgian coastal psychedelic sludgecore band MAUDLIN, Offerandum and Genet Rcs. have decided to work together on the release of their upcoming album “Ionesco”! The album is already fully recorded and being pressed as we speak! Mastering was done by the skillful hands of Magnus Lindberg of CULT OF LUNA fame! The CD version of the album will be released on Thursday May 1st at The Castle, Knokke-Heist. Support acts are TRENCHFOOT and WE’RE WOLVES. Next to this truly magnificent show, you’ll also be able to attend an art exhibition! The vinyl version of the album will come as a double LP with exclusive artwork and varying colours of vinyl! Pre-order info will soon be available.

Last month, JERUSALEM THE BLACK released their debut effort “Whore of Babylon, Beast of Rome” on 7” vinyl. Some of the coloured (green or yellow) vinyl is still left, but be quick if you want one because these babies are moving fast! The MCD version, containing two extra songs, will be released on Wednesday June 25th at the cosy youth centre Sirkonflex in Zedelgem. Support on this show will be done by the new and upcoming band RELATED and legendary Brazilian thrashers DISCARGA and the amazing THE SETUP will headline this show.

“This is my KINGDOM, it means everything to me….” Band and label are currently working very hard on putting the finishing touch on the artwork and the recordings of the KINGDOM album! We will release this album on 12” vinyl and on CD in an exclusive digi-pack! The band will also start playing some shows, but due to the crazy schedule AMENRA is playing this year, these shows will be exclusive and limited! The only KINGDOM show confirmed so far is Ieperfest 2008!

RAFFLESIA have been selected for an online voting contest to fill the opening spot on the infamous German Ultimate Summer Blast Festival in Trier! Help to get the band on the bill with bands like HEAVEN SHALL BURN, BLEEDING THROUGH, BRING ME THE HORIZON, CULT OF LUNA, MAROON, THROWDOWN and many more! Voting started on wednesday April 23d, and ends on Saturday May 31st. Click here to vote for them!! Other than this, the band is doing really well for themselves. A nice series of shows is lined up right now, some of them really big or special. Check out their MySpace for more information!

Another one of our bands that is doing really well in the show department is BLOOD REDEMPTION. 2008 has been a really busy year so far, and it looks as if it will be busy all year long! We like! In a few weeks, the band will embark on a four-day mini tour through Belgium with A TRAIL OF HORROR and the Spanish youngsters in THE BAND APART. In between playing all these shows, the band has worked in two new members, and is now stronger than ever before. They are working their asses off to get songs ready to put on their second full-length album as we speak. Expect shit that’s even crazier and heavier than what you can find on “Shadowbreed”!

Also working hard on new material is ASHEMA. This band has had some difficulties finding a good balance in their line-up, but now they are ready to come back and hit you harder than ever before! A small result of all the hard work of the last couple of months can be heard on the band’s MySpace. A brand new song, a brand new line-up and a new found strength... this year ASHEMA will take everybody by surprise! They are eager to hit the studio and record their first full-length as soon as they can, so keep a look out for that one.

Last but not least: PSALM. These metalheads from Brussels have been really busy since they released their MCD “Manifest” about two months ago, playing lots of shows to promote their new style! Two very interesting shows are about to be announced in the near future, so keep an eye on the band’s MySpace for more information about these and other shows the band might be playing in your area! We would also like to spend a word on some old friends, that are currently working on a brand new album: NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY. These extremely friendly Austrians will be releasing a new album this summer, immediately followed by a short tour through Europe supporting AS FRIENDS RUST! We are really looking forward to this new material, and are convinced it will be even better than their previous effort, released on Genet Rcs.!

Talking about Genet Bookings... we are very proud to announce we are booking the exclusive European reunion tour of the legendary American punkrock/hardcore band AS FRIENDS RUST! This is a great opportunity for our rather young “bookings agency” to show what we are capable of! Shows in London, Oberwart, Köln and Ieper are already booked, and the two remaining dates are expected to be filled really soon! On Wednesday June 25th, JERUSALEM THE BLACK is releasing the MCD version of “Whore of Babylon, Beast of Rome” in youth centre Sirkonflex, Zedelgem with RELATED, DISCARGA and THE SETUP! More details about this show will follow shortly!

Last but not least, the mother of all European underground music festivals: IEPERFEST! Last month, we released a first bunch of confirmed bands onto the masses, and the reactions were all extremely positive! Ieperfest 2008 is set out to be the best, and certainly on of the most varied editions so far. More names and details will be announced soon, so keep an eye on the recently totally renewed website www.ieperfest.com!

Wow, can’t believe yet another month has passed already. And what a month it has been ! Sit down and hold on to your seats, as we take you back to what has been, and take a look at what is still to come !

First of all, we’d like to thank all of you for making the very first edition of Ieper Winterfest a big success ! We were pleased to see the bill we put together made people put on their dancing shoes and leave their homes for an afternoon of metal/hardcore fun ! We were so excited by the turn out and the reactions, that we’ve decided to organise another edition next year. Please mark Saturday February 21st 2009 in your diaries already !

Genet signs KINGDOM!! We are very honoured to announce that we will be releasing the KINGDOM demo, completely reworked, remixed and remastered! KINGDOM is a Belgian sludge/hardcore project featuring Colle, Ture and Vince of the already legendary AMENRA! You’ll be able to pick up a copy on 12inch vinyl, or on CD in an exclusive digi-pack and both with different, adapted tracks! Artwork for both media will be done by the infamous Ray Kluze, vocalist of BLACK HAVEN. Stay tuned for an exact release date and pre-order information.

This weekend, JERUSALEM THE BLACK will be releasing their debut 7inch « Whore of Babylon, Beast of Rome » ! The past few weeks, both band and label have been working very hard to make it to the final deadlines. It turned out to be a close call, but we’ve made it ! The very first copies will be up for sale at the release show on Saturday March 15th in Vortn Vis, Ypres. JTB will be celebrating this release together with xTRIUMPH AND TRAGEDYx, RAFFLESIA and ZERO MENTALITY ! The record is available on regular black vinyl (300 copies), or on limited yellow (only 100 copies, mailorder only) or on limited green vinyl (also only 100 copies, release show only!)!! It has been up for pre-order on our Pyrrhus webstore for about a week now as well !

PSALM’s brand new MCD « Manifest » saw the light of day last month. This album is the beginning of a new era for PSALM. A brand new style of music, a brand new logo, a brand new myspace lay-out... The band expresses this new found breath of life by playing a long list of shows, and engaging in some interesting package deals with bands like KLUDDE, DAYS OF BETRAYAL and MAUDLIN. RAFFLESIA and BLOOD REDEMPTION are still going strong, adding new shows to their schedule every single day ! In between playing all these shows, both bands are working hard on some brand new material for their upcoming second full-length . Expect the first tunes to be played live very soon!

Other than that, BLOOD REDEMPTION has been undergoing a serious face lift. Both vocalist Wim and bass-player Sim have decided to leave the band. Each of them has his own specific reasons to do so, and those reasons are totally understandable ! We as a label would like to thank both men for all the hard work they’ve put in this band over the past few years ! Meanwhile, the other members have not been sitting on their lazy asses, and have started a quest for replacements. The search for a new vocalist was soon over, as Bram Vervisch (ex-FIRST ALLIANCE) will be taking over Wim’s duties as of today. We would like to welcome him to the Genet-family and hope for a very fruitful cooperation. The search for a new bass-player is still going on : lots of candidates have already been given a chance to show what they’ve got, and a final decision will be made soon, so stay tuned !

Invite your friends - invite your soul … to one of two shows we are organizing for one of Germany’s best hardcore/rock ‘n roll bands currently around: ZERO MENTALITY! On Friday March 14th, they will hit the stage of the Bruges youth centre Thope, together with RAFFLESIA, NO RECESS and SAVIOUR. One day later, you’ll be able to check them out at Vortn Vis, Ypres, alongside RAFFLESIA, JERUSALEM THE BLACK (7inch release show) and xTRIUMPH AND TRAGEDYx!

Next month, we have two other interesting shows lined up for you. Friday April 4th, we invite you all to The Frontline, Ghent to come and check out CRUEL HAND (US) and MILES AWAY (AUS). Support for these bands is still tba! On Tuesday April 22nd, RAFFLESIA, ONCE GODLIKE, SYNCOPE and DEDICTED will hit the stage of The Frontline. You’ll only pay €3 for four fantastic metalcore acts!

On Wednesday May 14th, another three euro bill is planned in The Frontline. This time, MAUDLIN, FOREST YELL (IT),THE FIFTH ALLIANCE (NL) and ARCHIVIST will hit the stage. Be sure to be present, to be one of the first to check some of the new and very tight MAUDLIN tunes live!

And then there’s also that little show at the end of August we’d like to call Ieperfest! A lot of bands have been booked already, and are eagerly awaiting to be released. Expect a first FLOOD of names really soon, alongside some other exciting news about Europe’s biggest independent underground music festival!

Hey there! Long time no see, and boy/girl, do we have a lot to tell you… First of all, happy new year for all of you! We hope 2008 will be a year full of joy, health and good music. We can’t help you out with the first two, but we will sure try to provide the third wish… By releasing two new records in the very near future for instance!

Meanwhile, the release date of PSALM’s “Manifest” MCD is coming closer and closer. On February 8th and 9th, the band will present their brand new stuff to old fans and new believers! The album, recorded at the notorious CCR Studio (THE SETUP, ABORTED, NO RECESS …), is bound to convince friend and foe of PSALM’s mission: to create music that will hit audiences with a force, bigger than the Hiroshima atomic bomb! Check it out yourself on Friday February 8th at the Magasin 4, Brussels on the band’s release show (w/LENG TCH’E, DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP …) or come to the very first edition of the Winter version of Ieperfest on Saturday February 9th, where PSALM will be playing alongside MUNICIPAL WASTE, SHATTERED REALM, THE SETUP, TOXIC HOLOCAUST and many more!

JERUSALEM THE BLACK has finished recordings of their very first effort at De Studio, with a very competent team of sound engineers and producers! The result is a 7” record, containing four songs that will see the light of day in March 2008. Every child needs a name, and that’s why JTB’s firstborn will be named “Whore of Babylon, beast of Rome”. The record will also appear on CD, featuring two bonus tracks, some months later! Expect chaos, as the band has unleashed all its fury on this record, and will shred, burn, and possibly crucify … every single audience that meets their tracks! Last December, RAFFLESIA and BLOOD REDEMPTION have been on a three-day mini-tour that took them to Stuttgart, Vilvoorde and Essen. Both bands and audiences enjoyed this experience very much, so expect similar tours in the near future! That is if we can slide this in between playing their already fixed shows, and the writing of new stuff for their upcoming albums…

Last week, RAFFLESIA played three headlining shows in Sweden with their good friends in HEARTS ALIVE and BRING YOUR OWN KNIFE. It was an experience they’ll never forget. Thanks to Chris DEAD and the Swedish crowds and promoters for making this happen! They will also be playing the official Greek release show of the new HEAVEN SHALL BURN album! RAFFLESIA will hit the stage as fourth band, just before headliners MAROON and HEAVEN SHALL BURN! After this crazy week, the band has some shows scheduled in Belgium and Holland. Long time since we gave you an inside view of what is going on at Genet HQ. That’s because we have been busy as hell: organising shows, releasing and promoting two new full-lengths … But now we have a shitload of cool news for you, so sit down and enjoy reading this update!

BLOOD REDEMPTION have released their first full-length “Shadowbreed” some time ago. The album is available since Ieperfest 2007, where BLOOD REDEMPTION played an awesome, heavy set. A month later, they repeated this performance at their release-show in Heist. The first reviews of the album are running in, and most of them seem to agree that “Shadowbreed” is a must-have album, and BLOOD REDEMPTION is a band to keep an eye on. The band has been playing shows everywhere, and will be playing even more in the future. In December, they will be playing three shows in a row with labelbuddies RAFFLESIA. You can check both bands out in Stuttgart, Vilvoorde and Essen! BLOOD REDEMPTION is planning a small tour through Europe next February, check out www.myspace.com/bloodredemptionh8000 or www.myspace.com/genetbookings for more info on that!

After the May-release of their first full-length “Embrace The Final Day”, things are going very well for RAFFLESIA. They played a large amount of shows (not a single free weekend between the end of July and the end of November), some of them very big like Ieperfest, Ziggypop and the SYNCOPE-release (both with NEAERA) and the Belgian part of the Never Say Die! – clubtour (w/ PARKWAY DRIVE, COMEBACK KID …). But also several shows in small clubs throughout Belgium. Within the next few months, they will be playing shows in Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Finland. We got some brand new releases coming up in 2008! First of all, PSALM will be releasing an MCD containing brand new material. The release date is set for Saturday February 9th at the very first Winter-edition of the legendary Ieperfest. They will be celebrating this release with alongside bands like MUNCIPAL WASTE, SHATTERED REALM and many others! The MCD will be recorded at the infamous CCR Studios (ABORTED, THE SETUP, NO RECESS, MORDA …) by Kris Belaen. One song (DIY recording) can be heared on www.myspace.com/psalm. As you listen to “Layers Of God Recreation”, it’s clear to all that the MCD will hit you hard! Also interesting to know is that the album artwork will be done by PSALM guitarist Sylvain.

ASHEMA is also scheduled to release a new album in 2008. The band is currently on hiatus as they are working hard on fitting in some new band members and writing new songs. They will be entering the studio as soon as they can to record their very first full-length! No doubt the album will be a blast. As the band is currently mostly in the rehearsing room, they won’t be accepting many shows, but you can always contact them via www.myspace.com/ashema or www.myspace.com/genetbookings and we’ll see what we can do!

Last but not least, Genet is proud to announce a new addition to their roster. As of today, JERUSALEM THE BLACK is part of the Genet-family! We would like to give them a warm welcome and have no doubt the co-operation will be constructive and fruitful! JERUSALEM THE BLACK, featuring ex-members of DIE…MY DEMON and current members of SUNPOWER and Genet will be releasing a MCD in the first half of 2008! The band already has some shows scheduled but is always on the look-out for new stages to trash! Showtime! We are past halfway our series of six shows at The Frontline, Gent, celebrating 15 Years of Genet Rcs. Only one more to go! The past two months, we served you metalcore, beatdown, old school hardcore, rock n’ roll, screamo, sludge … and there’s more where that came from. The last of six shows is planned on Wednesday December 19th. Bands performing on that show are BLOOD REDEMPTION and TRENCHFOOT. One or two more (including a headliner) are to be confirmed for that show!

On Saturday February 9th, the very first edition of the Ieper Winterfest is scheduled. The following band already confirmed their presence at the fest: MUNICIPAL WASTE, SHATTERED REALM, YOUR DEMISE, BLOOD STAND STILL, FURIOUS STYLES, FOR THE GLORY, PSALM and TRENCHFOOT. 4 more bands are to be announced soon! And finally we would like to announce the dates for Ieperfest 2008, so take your notebook and write down: Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August 2008!

Hello again! The more you think about it, the more you realize time really does fly by! Another month has passed already since we last gave you guys the most up to date news we had to offer. This time, we have a shitload of cool new stuff to announce.

BLOOD REDEMPTION has been in the CCR Studio for a while now, and is about ready to finish the recordings of their first full–length “Shadowbreed”. The band started recording with Warge ex-SOLID on second guitar, but due to artistic differences of opinion, he and the rest of the band decided to part ways. As of today, enthousiastic youngster Steven Bortier (known by many as BLOOD REDEMPTION’s roadie) will be joining the band! The last couple of weeks, he has been working his ass off to learn all the songs, both the old ones and the brand new ones! In a previous update, we already mentioned we would be pre-selling a bunch of copies at this year’s edition of Ieperfest, but what we didn’t tell you was that there will also be a special release show, so take note: Friday September 28th, Ravelingen Heist: BLOOD REDEMPTION “Shadowbreed” release show with MANS RUIN, NO RECESS, RAFFLESIA and, all the way from the USA, RUINER and SINKING SHIPS!

Hold on to your hats for some fresh and exciting RAFFLESIA-news! Their first full-length “Embrace The Final Day” has been out for about a month and a half now, and the reviews we’ve received so far are overwhelmingly positive. News about this killer album is starting to spread all over … As a result, RAFFLESIA is preparing two European tours taking them to some of the nicest spots around! More news on this matter in future updates.

The past few weeks, PSALM has searched and found a new drummer! 26 year-old Donat Fatrez will be hitting the cans for PSALM. He has been drumming since he was six years old, so the band managed to add a truly experienced guy to their team! And not a minute too early, because they have a series of shows all over the country lined up in the next few months. They will also be writing new material to put on their second full-length, so it will be one busy summer for them!

ASHEMA is also writing new material. They have a first full-length coming up in the winter of 2007. Showtime: You guys really seemed to enjoy our Hemelvaartshow and ANOTHER BREATH/THE LEGACY last month, and STRIKE ANYWHERE earlier on this week! And there’s more where that came from. On Wednesday July 4th, Genet Records is proud to present the Belgian “Everyday” LP-release of the promising Dutch harcoreband SAID AND DONE. We have lined up a varied list of bands to support them that day: THE BRAVE DO NOT FEAR THE GRAVE, RUINS, PSALM and SUNPOWER. A few days later (July 9th) , we invite you all to come to Gent and witness the arrival of the Tour de France in the afterenoon (just around the corner from Frontline) and bang your heads to LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR (US), CAPRICORNS (UK), PSALM and THE BRAVE DO NOT FEAR THE GRAVE in the evening!! And, last but not least, at the end of the summer, we will be very pleased to welcome each and everyone of you to the pitoresque town of Ypres for our 15th anniversary edition of the annual Ieperfest. 37 of the best and coolest names in hardcore/punkrock already confirmed their visit, and a final bunch of names will be released soon to complete this year’s bill of the fest. We are convinced that this is the best bill we’ve had over the past 15 years, and we are damn proud of it! Wow, amazing how months just fly by when you’re busy all the time! Last month was really hectic at the Genet HQ: releasing RAFFLESIA’s first full-length, planning and organizing shows, adding new and amazing names to the bill of Ieperfest, etc.

The bands have been pretty busy as well. RAFFLESIA played a steaming set at the release show of their first full-length “Embrace The Final Day” on 5 May. We were pleased to see lots of people were present to celebrate that release with us in De Haan at the beautiful Flemish coast. First reactions to the album are extremely positive, so don’t hesitate to buy it and see for yourself! Next couple of months, RAFFLESIA is playing shows everywhere, so go and check them out in a town near you and be convinced that these coastal boys are one of the best Belgian bands these days!!

BLOOD REDEMPTION entered the studio on May 6th to record their first full-length. After a period of careful deliberation, they decided to cancel studio-time at the Rape of Harmonies studio, and took their business to the legendary Belgian CCR studio! New guitarist Ward (ex-SOLID) couldn’t get enough time off at work, so they decided to stay a bit closer to home: all for one, and one for all! BLOOD REDEMPTION’s firstborn will bear the name “Shadowbreed”, and will be internationally released in September 2007. We will already be pre-selling a bunch at this year’s edition of Ieperfest, so pick up a copy there if you are present.

ASHEMA and PSALM are writing new material as we speak. ASHEMA will be recording their first full-length somewhere next autumn, just in time to release the album at the end of 2007. Meanwhile, they are playing shows all over the country, but are eager to play a lot more, so check them out and book them! Meanwhile, PSALM are looking for a new drummer, as David decided to walk new paths in life. PSALM and Genet Records would like to thank him for all the work and craftsmanship he put in the band! Auditions are being held, and PSALM will be presenting their new member in the near future!

Greetings friends! Two weeks ago, some of you were present at our showcase in Bruges where all four Genet bands (+ one special guest) gave their best. We, as well as all the bands, would like to thank everybody that came and supported us: Thanks a lot! Bruges’ most legendary venue “Het Visioen” alive and kicking again!

Enough chit-chat about the past, let’s see what Genet has in store for you in the near and not so near future. As you might have read in the previous news update, BLOOD REDEMPTION will be entering the studio to record their first full-length in May. The first songs we’ve heard so far sound crazy as fuck! The future looks bright as ex-SOLID guitarhero Ward will also be participating in the recording session. Together with BLOOD REDEMPTION’s equally highly skilled Dompi, this is bound to be a blast! The album will be released in September, but there will be an official international release on this year’s Ieperfest, woehoe!!

Meanwhile, we are in full preparation of releasing RAFFLESIA’s first full-length “Embrace The Final Day” onto the masses. The opening track of the album, Annihilation, has been online for a while now and can be checked out at myspace.com/rafflesiametalcore.

As we speak booklets are being printed and albums are being pressed! CD release on May 5th at Broedkasse, De Haan with DO OR DIE, RAFFLESIA, THE SETUP, FALL OF SERENITY, OMERTA and TAKE IT DOWN. Madness?? This is RAFFLESIA!!!

Now, let’s talk about shows! Most of you already know Genet will be bringing you some great bands the next few months: FALL OF SERENITY, NOTHING DONE, ANOTHER BREATH, THE LEGACY, STRIKE ANYWHERE … just to name a few. We are delighted to add some new names to this already impressive list! We’ll start by adding an extra name to our show in Oostkamp Thursday 17 May. Dutch punkers TENEMENT KIDS will be hitting the stage that day, before traveling to the UK to do a short tour with NOTHING DONE! July 9th, LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR (USA) and CAPRICORNS (London,UK) will be on stage at Frontline, Ghent. They will be supported by Bxl’s hardest PSALM and a brand new, hard as nails H8000 act called THE BRAVE DO NOT FEAR THE GRAVE. Not to be missed that one for sure!

Exciting news about our biggest show of the year: Ieperfest! Ten new, extraordinary bands will be announced in the next few days, making the line-up almost complete. Keep on checking www.ieperfest.com for names and information!

Approximately one month and a half passed since we last spoke, and a lot happened in that short period of time. We were delighted to welcome a lot of familiar and new faces on our past shows. We saw it was good, as you all seemed to enjoy bands like CALIFORNIA LOVE, MISERY SPEAKS, MAROON …

However, this was just the beginning of what is set to be a fantastic year full of Genet mayhem! In the next couple of months, we are able to bring you another series of interesting shows (starting March 16th in Ostend: LOSINGxSTREAK, BLACK HAVEN, TRAINWRECK, COMADRE, GRAF ORLOCK and MAUDLIN). Check our “events” section for more info on this show, and all other Genet-shows planned within the next few weeks and months.

On the band-front: RAFFLESIA went to Rape of Harmonies studios in Germany and recorded an album that will hit you harder than Zidane hit Materazzi! The result of 10 days of hard work is called “Embrace The Final Day” and will be released on May 5th. Joining them on stage at Broedkasse, De Haan that day are THE SETUP, DO OR DIE, FALL OF SERENITY, OMERTA and TAKE IT DOWN!

The day RAFFLESIA unleash the beast they’ve created onto the masses, BLOOD REDEMPTION is headed for Rape of Harmonies to record their first full-length, set to be released this summer! PSALM and ASHEMA are playing shows everywhere but are still looking for more, so contact us (stey@genetrecords.com) to book them, or any other Genet band!

Wow, last few months have been really busy at Genet hq, don’t know where to start!

First things first: Major thanks to all people who showed up at our Spirit X-Mas Invasion on December 29th. It was truly an awesome night, and an honour to organise that show for such a good crowd. Genet alive and kicking again!

Another proof of our renewed strength: the series of really cool shows we’re presenting the next few months. From now til May, we bring you kick-ass bands like MAROON, NARZISS, MISERY SPEAKS, NOTHING DONE, NINE … Some special attention for the Genet Showcase in Bruges April 4th: one night, all four Genet bands, don’t miss a single one! Check our “events” section for more info.

Another really cool, hot item: both RAFFLESIA (February) and BLOOD REDEMPTION (May) are heading for Germany to record their very first full-length at the Rape Of Harmonies studio. Killer bands such as MAROON and HEAVEN SHALL BURN have done so before! RAFFLESIA cd release is scheduled for May 5th, BLOOD REDEMPTION will be releasing their album somewhere next summer. And that’s not all there is to say on the “new releases” front: ASHEMA is entering the studio in the fall of 2007, and will be releasing their first full-length before you can say happy new year!

This doesn’t mean PSALM is having a sabbatical this year! They already have some cool shows planned this year, but are always looking for some more, so please contact us (stey@genetrecords.com) or them (myspace.com/psalm) if you want to book them! There’s some new PSALM merch coming soon as well.

Oh, and don’t forget to take down 24,25 and 26 August in your agenda. Those are the days you are all expected in Ieper for the 15th Anniversary Edition of Ieperfest! As we speak, plans are being made, bands are being booked… Expect for it to be a blast!

Genet signs RAFFLESIA. True! One of Belgium’s most promising metalcore acts, RAFFLESIA, decided to join forces with Genet records. These guys are one of the biggest talents to come out of Europe ever since HEAVEN SHALL BURN started to play out! The band will present its 5 song debut MCD on 27/5 at the great coastal town De Haan (JH Broedkasse). Other bands playing are ALWAYS FALLEN, NO RECESS, SAVIOUR, EZEKIEL 28, DAYS OF BETRAYAL, RAFFLESIA & German killer metalcore act NEAERA. More info on the RAFFLESIA website & myspace page. On Wed 28/6/2006 Genet records is organising a free entrance record release show for the 3 bands that will have new CDs out at that time: ASHEMA, BLOOD REDEMPTION and PSALM. They will be supported by the promising Eeklo metalcore act DAYS OF BETRAYAL. 28/6/2006 at 20.00 in Genet hometown Gent, free entrance!!

Sat 23 June 2006. The highly anticipated and long awaited PSALM debut CD "The Fortunes Complexity (In Five Cycles of Torments)" will finally see the light of day. The release show is taking place at Brussels underground venue “Magasin 4”. More info on the PSALM myspace page.

ASHEMA will be presenting their debut “In A Heartbeat” on July 1st in Bocholt. Also BLOOD REDEMPTION and SURGE OF FURY are rumoured to play that show. More info soon!

You won’t believe it, but MINUS45DEGREES are changing line-up once again. Kevin of REPLY fame will be joining their ranks and they hope to be rocking out soon again. Get in touch for shows since they will be ready to play out live soon again.

CHIMAERA decided to part ways with their bass player Michel. Thanks to him for being a turbo cool dude and being the CHIMAERA bassist for all those years! New man in charge of the bass now is Kurt. You’ll be able to see him play live soon as CHIMAERA keep on gigging all over the place! A few farewell shows with Michel will also be scheduled.
